Metro Station in Montreal on August 14, 2008 at Metropolis

Red Ink Music announced that Metro Station, hot off the release of their eponymous self-titled debut, will be joining forces with Good Charlotte and Boys Like Girls on this summer’s most sizzling show, The Soundtrack of Your Summer tour (see tour itinerary below).

The Hollywood-based Metro Station’s days in the underground are numbered. Led by radio tastemakers Z100 in New York and KISS-FM in Los Angeles, more than 100 Top 40 radio stations from coast-to-coast are playing the infectious “Shake It,” the lead single from the band’s self-titled debut. The band – Trace Cyrus (vocals, guitar), Manson Musso (vocals, guitar), Blake Healy (keyboards, synth) and Anthonly Improgo (percussion) – are truly a product of their times and their generation.

Produced by S*A*M and Sluggo (Gym Class Heroes, Boys Like Girls) and Justin Pierre and Joshua Cain (both of Motion City Soundtrack), Metro Station’s self-titled debut is a collection of sounds and lyrics reflecting the energy of youth. According to the L.A. Times, they are “…a band that’s grittier and sexier than their old Disney-packaged pop extravaganzas.”

Metro Station has created a hook-filled danceable pop sound mirroring the yearning of their generation and the excitement of contemporary pop life. Mastering both traditional song craft and modern technology of the group’s inaugural EP, “The Questions We Ask At Night,” Metro Station has enjoyed more than 1.7 million plays of the songs streamed on the band’s MySpace page (

MySpace Video Premier of the band’s first single “Shake It” had over 500K views. They are currently in the top 20 () at CHR, climbing the charts at Hot AC. The single reached on the Billboard Hot 100 and on the Pop 100. The album is on the iTunes charts, and the single, “Shake It”, is currently on the iTunes charts. The band sold nearly 500 units first week and the album is just starting to peak. The video for “Shake It” is the streaming video on Sympatico and climbing.

The press has been quick to respond to the fresh young sound and attitude of Metro Station. Alternative Press (July 2007) singled the group out as one of “22 Underground Bands (Who Likely Won’t Stay Underground For Long)” while Teen Vogue (April 2007) declared Metro Station a “Best New Unsigned Artist.” The group became part of Urb Magazine’s “Music Revolution” in January while their other single “Seventeen Forever,” the band’s breakout youth culture anthem, was featured in The N Network’s Summer ’07 television promos.

After recording their debut in New Your City in spring 2007, Metro Station headed out on the road and have been there ever since. They have toured with Panic At The Disco, Cobra Starship, Motion City Soundtrack and have co-headlined with Forever The Sickest Kids.
Their latest tour is this summer’s hottest ticket – The Soundtrack of Your Summer tour, and see’s them playing with Good Charlotte and Boys Like Girls.

Don’t miss your chance to “Shake It” with Metro Station!
