The Heavy - Live in Montreal - Sunday May 11 @ La Sala Rossa
Hey there, you fine purveyors of fine music, The Heavy are howling through town to lay their soul rock vengeance upon us all here in Montreal on Sunday May 11th @ La Sala Rossa.
After absolutely manhandling SXSW, with appearances at the Counter Records Showcase, the +1 House Party, and a still-buzzed-about Playboy Rock the Rabbit party, Noid outfit THE HEAVY are coming back to the States and Canada to plunder our major cities. This time, they come armed with an official North American release (Great Vengeance and Furious Fire, out April 8th, on Ninja Tune rock imprint COUNTER RECORDS in collaboration with PLUS ONE RECORDS) and their signature wolf howl, but in a perfect North American accent.
‘They’ve delivered a bold, uncompromising, barnstorming debut without regard for current trends, fashions, or indie cred. You can dismiss lazy comparisons to Amy Winehouse and “dirty soul”. The coolest thing about Great Vengeance and Furious Fire is it’s too busy kicking your ass to think about just how cool it is.’ - PopMatters
