Coldplay is giving away an exclusive live CD, titled LeftRightLeftRightLeft to all fans attending the Viva La Vida summer tour beginning May 15 (today!), the first date of the band’s North American tour and at every remaining live show in 2009. The CD will also be available as a free download during the same time period through their website http://www.coldplay.com.
“Playing live is what we love,” say Coldplay. “This album is a thank you to our fans – the people who give us a reason to do it and make it happen.”
The current hit single/video from the seven-time GRAMMY® and two-time JUNO Award winners is “Life In Technicolor ii,” off of the Viva La Vida - Prospekt’s March edition. Coldplay have most recently been nominated for three awards at this year's Ivor Novello Awards, the prestigious event which honours "excellence in British music writing." The band are up for Most Performed Work and Best Selling British Song, both for "Viva La Vida," as well as the Album Award for Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. The winners will be announced on May 21.
Coldplay have seven Canadian dates on their upcoming North American tour - beginning in Winnipeg on June 15 and then finishing off as headliners at this year's Osheaga Festival in Montreal on August 1. Viva La Vida was the Top Selling Global Album of 2008 according to IFPI, the body that represents the recording industry worldwide.
