Sloan is wheels off and happy to announce the release of their brand new digital EP “Hit & Run”. The EP, available as of November 23rd, is appropriately titled “Hit & Run” because of the real life experience one of the band members. This past summer Chris Murphy experienced a hit and run when he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle. He has spent the fall recovering from a broken collarbone and back and neck injuries. While cooped up at home, the band decided to take advantage of the time and make an EP for the fans.
The album features 5 brand news songs with songwriting contributions from each of the fab four - Andrew, Chris, Jay and Patrick. Sloan is fueled up and ready to get back on the road and will begin touring the US and Western Canada at the end of November.
Breaking free from the traditional album formats and the traditional marketing cycle “Hit & Run” will be available as a digital release only. Fans will be able to buy the album directly from the band’s website www.sloanmusic.com and ITunes. Embracing the notion of bringing their music directly to their fans; Sloan would like to continue using this model so they can release new tracks more spontaneously in the future.
The band has been busy rehearsing the new songs as well as many catalogue favorites which haven’t been heard live for years. Buckle in and get ready to ride when the “Hit & Run” adventure hits a town hear you!
